Puero Rico the Best Kept Secret in Real Estate

Do you know that Puerto Rico has amazing prices. You can still get a three or fourbedroom just five minutes from the International airport, 5 minutes to the beach and all for less than $200k.Mortgages are pretty easy compared to the states. We even have private money lenders.Property tax will amaze you. It is even difficult to convey. There is a special property tax exemption for your primary residence. Taxes are less than $1,000 on a $200k property.English is widly spoken and as my friend Felicia tells me she communicates with her hand sometimes. The people are super friendly.Let me mention how friendly. They will always kiss you. At first this is very uncomfortable for any American. It took me awhile to figure it out, now it would feel strange not to. We have lots of fun stories too. I remember once I had this client in business and every time he hung up he said, "Te Amo". I am still blushing and blush whenever I see him. I later figured out he was saying "Te Llamo". Just those little things that could ruin a marriage. (He was saying" I'll call you" and I thought he was saying, "I love you,".Or I could tell you about signing up for swimming classes. Clases de Natacion and I thought they were birthing classes. I arrived to the swimming classes almost 8 months pregnant. We have fun. The Puerto Ricans love when you at least try to speak the language.Puerto Rico may have its problems. Things move a little slower. I often say that Puerto Rico is a university in patience I have my doctorate. One morning at 9:00 am I was at Borders to buy a CD. Another American arrived at the same time and was very irritated and annoyed that it was 9:15 and they hadn't opened yet. I told her that I would have been surprised if it had been open.Personally, I think Puerto Ricans still know how to live and maybe that is why they were voted the happiest people in the world.
